Meth Addiction
Methamphetamine, commonly known as meth, is a highly addictive central nervous system stimulant that is often smoked, injected, swallowed or snorted. It is typically found as a crystalline powder or in its crystalline form known as “crystal meth.” Methamphetamine stimulates the release of neurotransmitters such as dopamine and norepinephrine, leading to increased energy, alertness, and euphoria.
Meth addiction is dangerous, and due to this and its high potential for addiction and adverse effects, methamphetamine is classified as a Schedule II controlled substance in many countries, and its recreational use is illegal.
