Clonazepam Addiction
Clonazepam, commonly known by its brand name Klonopin, is a medication you might take to manage anxiety disorders, panic attacks, or certain types of seizures. As a benzodiazepine, clonazepam works by enhancing the effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that helps regulate brain activity. By calming your central nervous system, clonazepam reduces feelings of anxiety and can help prevent seizures.
When it comes to clonazepam however, caution is advised as prolonged use of clonazepam can lead to tolerance, dependence, and eventually a clonazepam addiction.
